What is Aviostat?
Aviostat is a free web application that lets you log your air travel, organize flights into trips, and view detailed statistics and maps of your flight history. It's designed for anyone who flies — from occasional holiday travelers to frequent business flyers and aviation enthusiasts.
Is Aviostat free to use?
Yes, Aviostat is completely free. You can create an account, log unlimited flights and trips, and access all features at no cost. We display non-intrusive ads to support the service.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Aviostat is a web application that works in any modern browser on desktop, tablet, or phone. There's nothing to download or install.
Flights & Data
How do I add a flight?
Navigate to one of your trips (or create a new one) and click "Add Flight." Enter the departure and arrival airports using our instant search, add your travel dates and times, and save. Optional details like airline, flight number, and seat can be added too.
Where does the airport data come from?
We use the OurAirports open dataset, which covers over 9,000 airports worldwide. The database is updated periodically to include new airports and corrections.
How are distances calculated?
Distances are calculated using the Haversine formula, which computes the great-circle distance between two points on Earth. This gives the shortest path between airports — the same method used by airlines for frequent flyer mile calculations.
How does Aviostat handle time zones?
You enter times exactly as they appear on your boarding pass (local time at each airport). Aviostat knows the timezone of every airport and automatically handles conversions, daylight saving time, and international date line crossings when calculating flight duration.
Can I log flights from the past?
Absolutely. You can add flights from any date — whether it was yesterday or ten years ago. Many users start by entering their entire flight history from memory, old boarding passes, or booking confirmations.
Privacy & Account
Who can see my flights?
Your data is private by default. Only you can see your flights, trips, and statistics. If you choose to, you can generate a shareable link to a public version of your dashboard — but this is entirely optional and can be revoked at any time.
Can I delete my account?
Yes. You can delete your account at any time from your profile settings. This permanently removes all your personal data, flights, and trips. The action is irreversible.
What data do you collect?
We collect only what's needed to run the service: your email (for login), and the flight data you enter. We don't use tracking pixels or sell your data. See our full Privacy Policy for details.
Features
Can I share my stats with others?
Yes. In your profile settings, you can generate a unique shareable link. Anyone with the link can view a read-only version of your dashboard with your stats and map. You can revoke the link at any time to make your data private again.
Does Aviostat work on mobile?
Yes. The interface is fully responsive and works on phones and tablets. You can add flights, view your dashboard, and browse your stats from any device with a web browser.
